Academy defender Richard Nartey has signed a new contract and today joined Burton Albion on loan for the 2019/20 season.
Nartey, 20, has been with the Blues since he was an Under-9, helping us lift a youth team treble during the 2016/17 season. Burton, who will compete in League One this coming season, will be his first loan move.
A player who spent last season on loan at Burton, goalkeeper Bradley Collins, has left Chelsea with his contract ending this summer and has joined Barnsley in League One. The 22-year-old made 35 appearances for Burton last season, including in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City, having previously been loaned to Forest Green Rovers.
He has FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League winners’ medals from his time in the Chelsea Academy sides.
We thank Bradley for his service and wish him well.
