McCormick, 20, has been training with Chelsea since the age of six and signed as an Under-9. He was a regular for our youth team throughout 2015/16 before helping our youngsters to domestic silverware the following season in the FA Youth Cup and Under-18 Premier League.A hard-working, tough-tackling central midfield player, McCormick has added goals to his game while stepping up the age groups. He was an influential member of the team last season as our Under-19s finished runners-up in the UEFA Youth League, captaining the side throughout the latter stages and scoring important goals in the last-16, quarter-final and semi-final.The Shrews are planning for another season in League One after finishing just above the drop zone last term. McCormick’s new Chelsea contract commits him to his boyhood club until at least 2022.
