Lewis Baker has today joined Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan for the 2019/20 season.
The 24-year old has been with Chelsea since the age of nine and made his debut in an FA Cup tie at Derby County in January 2014. The midfielder spent the first half of last term at Leeds before switching to fellow Championship side Reading, making a combined 33 appearances.
His most productive loan was in the Netherlands from 2015 to 2017 when he spent two seasons at Vitesse in the Eredivisie, helping them to the Dutch Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
Fortuna were promoted to the Bundesliga last summer and secured a respectable 10th-place finish in their maiden campaign back in the top-flight.
