Rio Ave were 2-0 down at the break.Over in Brazil, Nathan came on during the second half of Atletico Mineiro’s 3-1 home defeat by Internacional.Mario Pasalic played 56 minutes for Atalanta in a 2-1 away success at Genoa which leaves the Bergamo club sixth in Serie A.

In England, Izzy Brown came a whisker away from earning a seemingly unlikely point for Luton Town at Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. He fired narrowly wide from distance in the closing stages after the Hatters had fought back from three goals down to 3-2, but they couldn’t find the final goal they needed to avoid defeat.Conor Gallagher and Charlton Athletic’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end, as they lost 1-0 at home to Birmingham City, who had Jake Clarke-Salter on the bench.
Trevoh Chalobah was part of the Huddersfield that lost 2-0 at home to Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday in what was a first game under new management for both clubs.
