We had a 63.3 per cent share of possession at Turf Moor. Mateo Kovacic (9.2 per cent) and Jorginho (8.8 per cent) spent the most time on the ball, helping control the tempo in midfield.

That pair were also responsible for the most accurate passes (Kovacic 96, Jorginho 93) and the most touches (Kovacic 130, Jorginho 104).

Of those players who started the game, Jorginho’s 94 per cent pass completion rate was bettered only by Burnley’s Dwight McNeil (96 per cent).

As a team we completed 589 of our 691 passes.

Alongside his impressive passing stats, Kovacic also recorded three successful take-ons, again a figure only McNeil (with six) topped.

Christian Pulisic was responsible for five of our 16 efforts, with our other goalscorer Willian attempting four, and Mason Mount next with three.

In the face of aerial pressure from the home side, Kurt Zouma stepped up to the challenge and won a game-high five aerial duels. Tammy Abraham won four of the six he contested.

Zouma also made seven clearances, two more than his centre-back partner Fikayo Tomori. Marcos Alonso’s three interceptions was a Chelsea-high figure.
