The Premier League TV selections for March have been announced, with three Chelsea matches chosen for live broadcast.
After a mouth-watering February which sees Frank Lampard’s side take on fellow top four contenders Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, the month of March begins with a home encounter against Everton and the return to Stamford Bridge of our former Double-winning manager Carlo Ancelotti. Our encounter with the Toffees will now take place on Sunday 8 March, kick-off 2pm.
The following weekend sees the Blues head to the Midlands for a meeting with Aston Villa on Saturday 14 March. Kick-off will now be at the later time of 5.30pm. On our most recent visit to Villa Park, Ruben Loftus-Cheek was among the scorers in a 4-0 league victory. Both the Everton and Villa matches will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Our trip to Germany in the Champions League then follows, with the visit to Bayern Munich in the last-16 second leg set to take place on Wednesday 18 March. After that, we host Manchester City at the Bridge on Saturday 21 March and that will now be played in the 12.30pm lunchtime kick-off and shown live on BT Sport.
However, progress for either team in the FA Cup could affect the City date as 21/22 March is the weekend on which quarter-final ties will be played. If either side reach the last eight, the Premier League meeting will be postponed. Because of that, the ticket on-sale dates for the game have been postponed.
If we beat Hull City and advance to the FA Cup fifth round, that tie will be played in midweek at the start of March, prior to the visit of Everton.
