The midfielder, who is 21, spent the first half of the season at League One club, Tranmere Rovers, where unfortunately injury restricted his impact to just two appearances in the EFL Trophy. He had previously enjoyed a successful season on loan in League Two with Cheltenham Town in 2018/19 where he made 44 appearances.Maddox joined Chelsea as a 14-year old and won back-to-back FA Youth Cups as well as the UEFA Youth League during his time playing for our Academy teams. On the international stage, he picked up a winner’s medal with England at the Under-19 European Championship in 2017.
