A statement released by the Premier League reads:‘Following a meeting of Shareholders today, it was unanimously decided to suspend the Premier League with the intention of returning on 4 April, subject to medical advice and conditions at the time.‘Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said: “Above all, we wish Mikel Arteta and Callum Hudson-Odoi speedy recoveries, and everyone else affected by COVID-19.“In this unprecedented situation, we are working closely with our clubs, Government, The FA and EFL and can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.”‘Despite the challenges, it is the Premier League’s aim to reschedule the displaced fixtures, including those played by Academy sides, when it is safe to do so.‘In this fast-moving environment, further updates will be provided when appropriate.’

FA Cup, Women's Super League, Women's FA Cup and academy

The Football Association confirmed the suspension also covers the FA Cup, Women's Super League and the Women’s FA Cup, along with academy matches.

Therefore our FA Cup match away to Leicester will not be played next weekend and Chelsea FC Women’s FA Cup match away to Everton on Sunday has also been postponed. Subsequent matches are also affected up to 4 April.

Champions League

Earlier on Friday morning it was announced all matches in UEFA competitions next week have been postponed, including our trip to Bayern Munich, because of the spread of COVID-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments.

The fixture in Germany, scheduled for Wednesday 18 March, was going to take place behind closed doors but will now not be happening at all next week.UEFA have said further decisions on when the match will take place will be communicated in due course.All other Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Youth League matches have been postponed. As a consequence of those postponements, the Champions League and Europa League quarter-final draws scheduled for 20 March have also been postponed.UEFA will further discuss European football's response to the outbreak at a videoconference meeting on Tuesday 17 March.

Information for fans who have purchased tickets for affected games

Premier League game versus Aston Villa away and FA Cup game versus Leicester City away - tickets that have been issued will remain valid should the match be rescheduled. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

FA Youth Cup game versus Manchester United and PL2 game versus Wolves - tickets purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled match. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

Women’s Super League games versus Everton and Brighton at home - tickets purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled match. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

Champions League game versus Bayern Munich away - supporters who originally purchased tickets for this match will be given priority to purchase should the match be rescheduled. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

Club travel – if supporters have booked travel with our official travel partner CTM then those bookings remain valid should the match be rescheduled. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.
