As part of the BBC's special lockdown poll, Hayes was one of six managers in the running in one of several categories from the WSL and the Premier League. It is a shortlist which was chosen by a number of BBC journalists. The Chelsea boss picked up 27 per cent of the public vote to be named as the Manager of the Season.

There is uncertainty on when professional football in England is likely to return due to the coronavirus pandemic. Prior to the pause, the Blues were having a stunning season and on course to win the league title should we continue our unbeaten run to leapfrog leaders Manchester City and win our game in hand.

Chelsea are the only team in the WSL to be undefeated this term having been victorious on 12 occasions, with our largest result being 8-0 against West Ham at Kingsmeadow.

Hayes’ side have dropped points in just three games so far this season. In our second game of the season, Brighton & Hove Albion held us to a 1-1 draw and so did Liverpool, while our top-of-the-table clash versus Manchester City dramatically ended in 3-3.

The last time Chelsea were in action was over two months ago now and we clinched our first piece of silverware of the domestic season when we came away with the Continental League Cup trophy thanks to a 2-1 victory over Arsenal.

Getting our hands on that trophy for the first time in our history will certainly be a highlight of the season for Hayes.
