It’s been a week since Timo Werner joined in full training with Chelsea and it’s fair to say the German already feels right at home.
Our cameras were granted exclusive access to all of last week’s training sessions at Cobham so that we could track the striker’s progress as he joined in full training with Frank Lampard’s squad and the end results are sure to have Chelsea fans around the world excited to see the German international in action next season.
Timo, who arrived from RB Leipzig and followed Hakim Ziyech through the doors as our second addition ahead of next season, showed his attributes with some smart finishes during a shooting drill, as well looking sharp on the ball and highlighting the quick turn of pace he holds in his locker.
You can watch the best of Werner’s first week as a Chelsea player in the video above and stay tuned to The 5th Stand app, the official website and our social media channels for more great content of the German in action.
Werner has already started to fit in well with the squad, with the German reflecting on his first week and what it was like to meet everyone connected to the club at Cobham.
‘The first day is always a little bit crazy because you don’t know everybody so much,’ Timo says, ‘and not only the team, it is always a pleasure to meet the team behind the team for the first time and now I am very happy and excited to meet them.’
