Chelsea duo Christian Pulisic and Pedro have both taken to social media to issue updates on the injuries they suffered against Arsenal in the FA Cup final last weekend.
The pair were both forced off at Wembley, with Pulisic suffering a hamstring injury just moments into the second half when striking at goal while Pedro was stretchered off with a dislocated shoulder in injury time, in what is likely to have been his final outing in a Chelsea shirt.
However the wing duo have both updated concerned supporters via their Instagram accounts, with Pedro confirming that his shoulder surgery was a success.
‘The surgery went well, I will be back soon,’ The Spaniard posted on Instagram. ‘It was a pity not to win the FA Cup. Thank you for all your support.’
Frank Lampard confirmed after our home victory over Wolves that the winger, who has lifted the Premier League, the Europa League and the FA Cup during his time at the club, would likely be departing Stamford Bridge after five successful years.
‘The lads have just pretty much serenaded Pedro in the changing room and rightly so because of the career he has had generally, and for this club,’ said our head coach, following our final day win over Wolves.
‘It was his last Premier League game, but the impact he has had here is huge. I want to say a big thanks to Peds and wish him well as he goes forward.
‘He is here for the remainder of games, but a big player of the club leaves and the spirit of the club I saw afterwards was pretty special.’
Meanwhile Pulisic, who had opened the scoring against the Gunners last weekend, has also posted on Instagram regarding his injury and told fans he would be ‘back in no time’.
‘Gave it everything we had, wasn’t our day. Thank you guys for your support, I’ll be back in no time,’ the American posted.
Pulisic is expected to miss our Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Saturday evening, with Lampard expected to update on the extent of his injury at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
