This will be the sixth meeting between Chelsea and Bayern in all competitions. The Germans currently edge the head-to-head record with two wins to our one, which came in our first encounter at Stamford Bridge back in 2005.

Despite our clash in the 2012 final going down as a draw, it was of course the Blues who emerged victorious and with our hands on the trophy after the penalty shootout drama.

Injury news for Bayern vs Chelsea

Lampard is expected to be without the services of several players, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic (both hamstring) and Pedro (shoulder) all having withdrawn from the FA Cup final last weekend with game-ending injuries.

N’Golo Kante was on the bench at Wembley but didn’t feature, while Willian and Ruben Loftus-Cheek missed the game completely.

Bayern have not played a competitive match since 4 July and their only fitness concern is French full-back Benjamin Pavard, who has picked up an ankle ligament injury and is expected to miss the game.
