Kenedy has joined Granada in Spain on a season-long loan.
The Brazilian returns to La Liga having spent the 2019/20 campaign at Getafe, where he made 27 appearances in all competitions. He scored three goals and set up a further five.
The 24-year-old’s new club Granada kick off the new La Liga season at home to Athletic Bilbao on Friday night. Granada were a revelation in Spain last year, finishing seventh in their first season after promotion from the Segunda Division. That means they have a Europa League qualifier, away to Teuta of Albania, to look forward to later this month. It will be the club’s maiden experience of European football.
Since joining Chelsea in 2015 from Fluminense in his native Brazil, Kenedy has made 27 appearances for the Blues and scored three goals, including on his first start for the club in a League Cup game at Walsall. In March 2016 at Norwich he scored the Premier League's fastest goal of the season after 39 seconds. In the first half of the 2017/18 season, Kenedy featured in both domestic cup competitions for the Blues, scoring the opening goal in a Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
He also has loan experience at Watford and Newcastle in the Premier League, and has represented Brazil at Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 levels.
