The Blues centre-forward finished as our top scorer last term with 21 goals in 24 games, with 14 of those being in the WSL and seven in cup competitions – an impressive tally considering the season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

England’s contribution was key in our title-winning campaign, and the Continental Tyres League Cup final when she notched both goals against Arsenal to see us lift the trophy for the first time in club history.

The 26-year-old has already been recognised by fans for her efforts and was named Chelsea Women’s Player of the Year, as well as the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Season, but this award is decided by the votes of fellow professional footballers.

Our No.9 joins Fran Kirby and Ji So-Yun who have both won this honour in previous years.

The 2019/20 PFA Women’s Super League Team of the Year has also been announced and six Chelsea representatives, including England, have made the team of 11.

Joining England in the team is goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger, captain Magdalena Eriksson, defenders Millie Bright and Maren Mjelde, plus midfielder Ji-So-Yun.
