Our development squad are back in league action against Derby County this weekend. The game was originally scheduled to take place at Kingsmeadow but will now be hosted at Cobham and you can watch it live on the 5th Stand app or this website.
Andy Myers’ men entered the international window on the back of a strong showing against Arsenal in our second London derby of the season, and they will be hoping to continue that momentum when Derby visit Cobham on Saturday, kick-off 12 noon.
We began our title-winning campaign last term against Saturday’s opponents and Marcel Lavinier scored in the 85th minute to secure victory at Pride Park. The return fixture was a much more eventful affair, Jon Russell helping us get back on level terms after half an hour but the scoreline at half-time read 1-3 to the visitors.
However, Myers’s men were credited on multiple occasions for their ability to fight for points and second-half goals from Clinton Mola and Charlie Brown ensured the young Blues remained undefeated in their quest for glory.
In other news, Under-18 goalkeeper Kelechi Chibueze has departed the club after 10 years in the Academy. He last kept goal for Ed Brand’s team during the 4-1 win over West Ham at Cobham in September. We thank Kelechi for his contribution and wish him well for the future.
