The UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 qualifiers continue next week with a number of our players competing for a place in the European tournament alongside hosts England.

Five of our English players who have been selected for Phil Neville’s Lionesses squad will meet up at England’s St. George’s Park base on Sunday, with an in-house training game scheduled for Friday 23 October before they travel to Germany.

The Lionesses are set to face international competition for the first time since March when they head to Wiesbaden to face Europe’s highest-ranked team at the Brita Arena on Tuesday 27 October (kick-off 3pm).

Carly Telford, Millie Bright, Fran Kirby, Bethany England and Niamh Charles, who receives her second senior call-up, will go head-to-head against club team-mates Ann-Katrin Berger and Melanie Leupolz.

Berger and Leupolz do not have any qualifying fixtures throughout this international window, with Germany’s final two Group I matches taking place in November.

Erin Cuthbert and Scotland will be looking to ensure they reach their third successive major tournament when they take on Albania in Edinburgh on Friday 23 October before heading to Helsinki to face Finland the following Tuesday in Group E.

Maren Mjelde, Maria Thorisdottir and Guro Reiten have all been named in Norway’s squad and should they beat Belarus on Wednesday 21 October, they will qualify with two games left to play. The Norwegians will also travel to Newport to play Wales in Group C the following week. Wales captain Sophie Ingle is expected to be named in her national squad in the coming days.

Blues skipper Magdalena Eriksson and Jonna Andersson have been selected in Sweden’s squad as the World Cup bronze medallist’s quest to reach the 2022 tournament continues with visits from Latvia and Iceland in Group F.

UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Pernille Harder and Denmark will look to continue their perfect record in Group B when they meet Israel and Italy later this month. Denmark have so far scored 41 goals in their qualifying campaign and currently top their group with seven victories in seven matches.
