Frank Lampard has been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award, following our unbeaten run in November.
The Blues kicked off last month by coming from behind to beat Sheffield United 4-1 at Stamford Bridge, with Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Timo Werner on target following David McGoldrick’s opener for the Blades.
In fact, that McGoldrick strike was also the last time Chelsea have conceded in the league, keeping clean sheets in our next two Premier League fixtures – our away win at Newcastle and goalless draw with Tottenham.
Our performance at St James’ Park against Newcastle was the perfect away performance, with a strong defensive platform leading to a 2-0 away win. An own-goal opened the scoring before Abraham sealed the three points with a smart finish in the second half.
We ended the month with a goalless draw against former Blues manager Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham. Despite dominating, we couldn’t find a breakthrough and the points were shared, meaning we remained unbeaten for the month.
West Ham’s David Moyes, Jose Mourinho of Tottenham and Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are the other names nominated for the November award, with the winner announced on Friday 11 December.
