The young Blues once again overturned a two-goal deficit in yesterday’s London derby against Tottenham as Peart-Harris's brace, either side of Marcel Lewis's strike in the second half, completed an excellent comeback at Kingsmeadow.

The game was hotly anticipated as Petr Cech pulled on a pair of gloves for the first time in a competitive game for 566 days as he started between the sticks for Andy Myers’s youngsters in Premier League 2. However, after conceding twice inside the opening quarter of the contest, there was an uphill task after the restart.

Introduced at the break with the hosts 2-0 down, Peart Harris has revealed Myers’s words to the group at the interval and describes his conversation with Lewis Bate moments before he dispatched from the spot to start the revival.

‘When we came in at half time, Andy spoke to the team and said we just needed a little bit more personality in attack,' he told the official Chelsea website. 'From watching the first half, we felt I could bring that to the team, especially with my recent goalscoring record. I just ran and worked hard and luckily got my two goals.

‘Lewis Bate is usually on penalties but he’s a good friend. I felt confident at the time and I asked him if I could take it. Luckily he said yeah, I kept calm and scored it!'

The second half was certainly more reminiscent of a derby and the game ended 10-vs-10 after a red card each for Alfie Devine and Danny Drinkwater. With both teams chasing the winning goal late on, Peart-Harris delivered the goods two minutes from time to spark jubilant celebratory scenes.

‘Getting into the box is something I’m working on because as you get older it gets more and more important,’ the 18-year-old added. ‘I arrived at the right time and was in the right place. With the goalscoring form I’m in now, it just happened to fall nicely and the passion in the celebrations at the end was great.

‘Games against Tottenham are our favourite to win. We're rivals and it means that bit more that we completed the comeback so dramatically in a London derby.’
