In our look at the latest Chelsea-related news stories from the media, the Blues are again linked with a move for Jadon Sancho, while John Terry singles out one Chelsea player for praise during our weekend win.

Blues and United to battle for Sancho
Chelsea and Manchester United could both attempt to sign Jadon Sancho this summer according to ESPN, following reports that Borussia Dortmund's asking price for the England international will be dropped.
The winger has shone in Germany and reports state that Manchester United are leading the chase to bring him back to the Premier League, although former Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel could try and tempt Sancho to Stamford Bridge.
‘Following reports that Manchester United have increased their chances of signing Jadon Sancho this summer, Sport1m via ESPN, states the Red Devils will have to battle it out with Chelsea to land their man,’ the report says.
‘Sancho has been a long-term target for United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is widely believed to be at the front of the queue to finally bring Sancho to Old Trafford.
‘However, Thomas Tuchel has reportedly now revealed that he would like to lure the winger to London, and with Borussia Dortmund said to be lowering the asking price for the 20-year-old, Chelsea would appear to be now on high alert.
‘Sancho could be available for €105 million, a figure that would help the German club ease their growing financial concerns, but which would also tempt more clubs into trying their luck in signing him.’
JT’s praise for Chelsea midfielder’s display
Former Chelsea captain John Terry has heaped praise on Mason Mount, following another excellent display from the midfielder in our win over Sheffield United yesterday.
Mount opened the scoring at Bramall Lane, before Jorginho sealed all three points in our 2-1 victory by scoring from the penalty spot for the second consecutive away game, but it was the performance of the England man that had Terry heading to Instagram to congratulate our No19.
In a post on his Instagram page, Terry wrote: ‘Mason Mount what a player. How have the commentators not even mentioned this.’
Our former skipper is currently part of Dean Smith’s backroom staff at Aston Villa and has been linked with the vacant head coach role at Bournemouth in recent weeks.
Chelsea to display six-year-old’s Canoville drawing
A young primary school pupil has been promised a tour of our Cobham training base once the Covid-19 pandemic is over, after creating a drawing of Paul Canoville.
Leo Lufkin created the drawing of our former winger and plans are afoot to host the artwork in our Academy reception area.
The report in the Uckfield news states: ‘Uckfield six-year-old Leo Lufkin has been promised an invitation to visit Chelsea Football Club Academy once the Coronavirus pandemic is over.
‘That’s because the St Philip’s Primary School pupil created a drawing of Paul Canoville and it is to take pride of place in the academy reception area.
‘Leo chose to draw Paul as part of a school project to mark Back History Month. Leo’s choice of subject was influenced by his stepfather Phil Byrne, a Chelsea season ticket holder, who has supported the club since he was a child.’
Canoville was the first black player to debut in the Chelsea first team and has been a trailblazer in the fight against racism. Paul is currently critically ill in hospital and everyone is wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
