Emma Hayes and Blues forward Fran Kirby have been nominated for March’s Barclay’s FA Women’s Super League Manager and Player of the Month awards.

Kirby was recently named the Barclay’s Player of the Month for January, while Hayes picked up the manager’s award for the same month and the Blues duo are now in the running for the March awards.

It was a busy but successful month for Chelsea as Hayes guided her side to away victories over West Ham United and Everton before a win against Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow.

The Blues scored seven goals and kept three clean sheets to keep our place at the top of the WSL, two points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Kirby continued her brilliant form to help maintain our advantage at the top of the league standings, with our No.14 producing stand-out performances, providing assists, and netting five goals in all competitions throughout March.

The forward opened the scoring in our 3-0 victory against Everton before laying Pernille Harder’s goal on a plate for her to double our advantage.

The combination of Kirby and Sam Kerr also bore fruit once again in March, with the Australian benefiting from two assists in our 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Other manager nominees are: Joe Montemurro (Arsenal), Gareth Taylor (Manchester City).

Other player nominees are: Lauren Hemp (Manchester City), Hayley Raso (Everton), Charlie Wellings (Bristol City), Carlotte Wubben-Moy (Arsenal).

The awards are decided by a combination of votes from a panel and fans.
