Sam Kerr has won the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month award for April.
Kerr was nominated for the award, alongside team-mate Ann-Katrin Berger, and beat off competition from Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema and West Ham United’s duo Hawa Cissoko and Kenza Dali.
The Australian has been impressive for Chelsea this season and continued to shine for the Blues throughout April.
Kerr netted a first-half hat-trick in Chelsea’s 6-0 victory over Birmingham at the start of the month and also played a major role in the Blues securing a 2-2 draw at Manchester City.
Our No.20 headed home the opener before winning the penalty which Pernille Harder converted to earn Chelsea a vital point in the race for the league title.
Kerr’s scoring form has continued into May and after netting a brace in Wednesday’s 2-0 win against Spurs, the Blues striker is leading the way at the top of the WSL scoring charts with 20 goals.
