Blues linked with Kane

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

According to Sky Sports, the England international has informed his club he wants to leave in the summer.

‘It is no secret that Kane has wanted to compete for the top honours, both as a team and individually,’ said Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour. ‘We have been told Tottenham managed to persuade Kane to stay last summer when one English club came for him.

‘They said to him they had Jose Mourinho for a full season, give it a go and let’s see what happens, And clearly as the season has gone on, it did not happen for Spurs and Mourinho has since left the club.’

The 27-year-old will now be one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe. The report also states that alongside the Blues, both Manchester clubs have been in contact with the player’s representatives.

Kane has scored 220 goals in all competitions for the north London club and is ranked second in their all-time scorers list. He has also netted the fourth-most Premier League goals for one club with 165 for Tottenham.

Wise admits he’d hate playing against Mount

Former Blues midfielder Dennis Wise believes he would’ve struggled to play against Mason Mount back in his playing days.

Speaking to The Sun, the Blues legend also praised Mount and the impact he has had on the squad in the last two seasons.

‘Mount is horrible (to play against) because he puts you on the back foot,’ Wise said. ‘He runs this way, that way and drops short. He would have annoyed me.

‘You look one way and boom! He’s gone.’

Mount made his 51st Chelsea appearance of the season in the FA Cup final and has been one of the standout players for Thomas Tuchel. He also scored the crucial goal against Real Madrid that put us in the Champions League final.

‘Everyone has known since he was 15 that Mount would make it and he has taken his opportunity,’ Wise continued. ‘He is very aggressive running with the ball at you. He is a real talent.

‘There’s an inner strength from him to play like that and still enjoy it. He thrives on it.’

Rodgers wary of Blues depth

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has labelled our squad as one of the strongest in Europe.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Rodgers praised the quality of depth Thomas Tuchel has in his side. The former Celtic manager also believes this could give Chelsea the edge when the two teams face each other tonight.

‘Chelsea have one of the best squads in Europe,’ he said. ‘They can rotate and make changes to make that physical difference and it won't make a massive difference to the quality.’

The Blues face the Foxes 72 hours after our FA Cup final clash at Wembley on Saturday. This is another crucial game for the top-four race for Champions League qualification.

With supporters returning, the Blues will be looking for that extra boost when 8,000 fans come back to Stamford Bridge tonight.
