Emma Hayes has been named Barclays FA WSL Manager of the Year and it is consecutive wins for her having scooped last season’s award.It comes as no surprise as the Chelsea Women manager has guided the Blues to back-to-back WSL titles, Continental League Cup success and most recently, took the Blues to our first-ever Champions League final in Gothenburg.It’s been an incredible league campaign for Chelsea, with Hayes’ side securing 18 wins with three draws and only one defeat to finish two points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.Chelsea have been outstanding in attack, scoring 69 goals and the Blues have been just as impressive at the back, with the tightest defence in the league having conceded 10 times in 22 games.

Upon receiving her award, Hayes said: 'I do what I do because I love it, not because I want awards for it. But of course, I’m proud when I’m nominated for these things.

'It’s a team sport so I almost cringe a little bit, but this is for all my team behind the scenes, for Paul Green, Stuart Searle and Denise Reddy and the rest of the team that you might not always see. This is for all the hours of hard work they all put in to get us to the top.'

A key figure in this season’s success has been Fran Kirby, who was back to her best having missed large periods of our last campaign due to illness.On our way to securing back-to-back WSL titles, the forward was in scintillating form for the Blues, netting 16 goals in 18 WSL appearances.What’s been even more impressive is Kirby's tally of 11 assists, while her performances across the season have also seen her recognised as the club’s Player of the Year.

When receiving her WSL Player of the Year award, Kirby commented: 'I was quite shocked to win this one, it’s been a really good season for all of us, so for me to win this is really special.

'I went into the season thinking let’s just see what happens. For me being on the pitch and to be able to enjoy it again, that means more to me than anything else.'
