Reaching the Champions League final brought out the emotional side of Jorginho but the Chelsea midfielder is hoping to complete the job and lift the trophy.

The Italian midfielder visibly showed what it meant to him to help the Blues defeat Real Madrid in the semi-final and set up a final date with Manchester City, which will be played at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto later this evening.

The midfielder, our current leading scorer in all competitions, will hope to play his part once again and has his eye on the biggest prize in club football, with his family all supporting him every step of the way.

‘This game means so much to me,’ said the midfielder.

‘My mum will be here, my dad and sister too. This final means a lot for my family, my friends and for those who were always beside me for every single moment of my life.

‘It was really emotional beating Real Madrid to reach the final, but also physical as well. We spent a lot of energy and I was really tired after the game. Emotionally, to achieve the final was massive not just for me but for this group as well as we have been working so hard for that.

‘Everything came through my mind of what I have been through in my life to get to this point. I was living that moment and it was very emotional to reach the final for me and my team-mates. I’m so happy to arrive in Porto in the Champions League final but of course, we want to lift the trophy.’

The Italian has often been the man the Blues have turned to in high-pressure situations, remaining coolness personified from the penalty spot.

Jorginho confirmed he has practised his spot-kick taking ahead of the final and says he is ready to step up if required.
