Ann-Katrin Berger, Magda Eriksson, Sam Kerr, Fran Kirby and Maren Mjelde have been named in the PFA Barclays FA Women’s Super League Team of the Year.

Chelsea have more representatives in the PFA Team of the Year than any other WSL side and it’s no surprise after an impressive season from the Blues.

Berger, Eriksson, Kerr, Kirby and Mjelde have all played a part in helping Chelsea secure back-to-back WSL titles, the Continental League Cup, Community Shield and reach our first-ever Champions League final.

The attacking partnership of Kerr and Kirby was a huge factor in being crowned champions of the WSL for a second consecutive season, with the Blues forwards netting a combined total of 37 goals.

Kerr scored an impressive 21 goals in 22 games to secure the Golden Boot award, while Kirby, Chelsea Women’s all-time leading goalscorer, contributed 16 goals and 11 assists.

While Kerr and Kirby were doing the business in front of goal, Blues goalkeeper Berger produced magnificent performances between the sticks. The German international picked up the Golden Glove award having secured 12 clean sheets in the WSL.

Playing a vital role in getting those clean sheets were defenders Eriksson and Mjelde. Eriksson led by example at the heart of the Blues defence and her partnership with Millie Bright seemed to go from strength to strength with each game.

Prior to picking up a knee injury in the Continental League cup final which ruled her out for the remainder of the season, Mjelde was a consistent standout performer for the Blues.

Mjelde shone for Chelsea in both the right-back and central defence positions and the Norwegian International showed her importance to the Blues when she netted two vital penalties in our Champions League round of 16 tie victory against Atletico Madrid.
