Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes has been revealed as one of the UK’s favourite pundits, according to new research.
With the Euro 2020 quarter-finals starting on Friday, a study was taken to show which commentators and pundits the fans have enjoyed listening to the most throughout the tournament, with Hayes coming out on top.
Hayes is currently working at ITV for the Euros and has been sharing her elite football knowledge on matchdays, gaining further popularity with viewers.
According to Twitter analysis through OLBG’s Commentator rankings, our manager has been revealed as one of the favourites out of the 28 pundits that were studied.
Alongside her punditry, Hayes has also used the tactical insight she has implemented on the touchline at Kingsmeadow in the commentary box.
Doing co-commentary, she has been able to dissect the game by explaining different tactical concepts, making the games easier to understand for viewers.
Former Blues player and current Chelsea TV pundit and Chelsea website columnist Pat Nevin has been ranked as the second-most popular co-commentator at the Euros. He is a regular on BBC Radio 5 Live and has continued to show his quality throughout this tournament.
Nevin, who is based in Scotland, was on duty last night when Ukraine and Sweden met at Hampden Park, with a dramatic injury-time winner in extra-time ensuring Andriy Shevchenko's Ukraine side will face England in the quarter-finals in Rome on Saturday evening.
