Ross Barkley was part of the group in action this morning, returning to Chelsea following a loan spell at Aston Villa, and he was joined by fellow midfielders Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher and Danny Drinkwater who were also away from Stamford Bridge last term on temporary moves.

Marcos Alonso, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham all looked sharp, while Christian Pulisic continued his work with the group today.

Goalkeepers Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga worked away from the group initially on some ‘keeper specific drills, before joining the rest of the players later in the session.
