Kenedy has extended his contract with Chelsea and returned to Brazil on loan with Flamengo for the 2021/22 season.
The winger will spend the coming campaign back in his homeland after completing his switch to Flamengo, who share the same Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro as his first professional club Fluminense. Flamengo are the current reigning league champions in both the national Brazilian Serie A and the regional Rio de Janeiro State Championship.
Kenedy has been at Chelsea since 2015, making his debut in a Premier League match against Crystal Palace in August of that year and getting a goal and an assist on his first start, in a 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Walsall.
The Brazilian also netted the Premier League’s fastest goal of the 2015/16 season, after 39 seconds of our fixture away at Norwich City. In total, the 25-year-old has made 27 first-team appearances for the Blues, scoring three goals.
He played the past two seasons in Spain, on loan with Granada and Getafe, and has also spent time on loan in the Premier League with Newcastle United.
