Covid-19 requirements

It is important that all supporters visiting Kingsmeadow are aware of the following information, or risk not being admitted.

Supporters attending our home matches at Kingsmeadow this season are required to provide evidence that they are at low risk of transmitting Covid-19. This is to increase the safety and comfort of our supporters, players and staff as we host large crowds again.

This can be done through proof of full Covid-19 vaccination (with both doses received at least 14 days prior to the match) or proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test (from age 11 and over) carried out within 48 hours of the fixture kicking off. More information can be found here.

The form

The Blues last played at Kingsmeadow on Saturday, recording a third consecutive league victory with a 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion. Goals came from Guro Reiten, Sam Kerr and Bethany England, who once again made an impact just minutes after coming onto the pitch.

Emma Hayes's side will head into this Champions League campaign looking to go one step further than last season's 4-0 final defeat and lift the trophy this year.

Wolfsburg are previous winners of this competition, lifting the trophy in consecutive 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons, while also being three time runners-up in 2016, 2018 and 2020. Last year they were knocked out by Chelsea in the quarter-finals.

This season, the She-Wolves qualified for Champions League by defeating Bordeaux in qualifying via a penalty shootout.Wolfsburg drew their last league match 2-2 to struggling Freiburg last weekend. Prior to this they enjoyed two straight wins against Duisburg and Sand.

Chelsea v Wolfsburg head-to-head record

This will be the fifth meeting for the two teams in the Champions League. Last year, the Blues were victorious against Wolfsburg with a 5-1 win on aggregate.Chelsea edged the first leg in Budapest, winning 2-1 against Wolfsburg in what was our first ever victory over the German side. Hayes's Blues saw the tie out at Kingsmeadow by winning 3-0 and reaching the semi-final.Prior to last year, Chelsea have been knocked out of the European competition by the She-Wolves on three previous occasions. Wolfsburg defeated the Blues 4-1 on aggregate at the round of 16 stage in 2015/16 season and then, a year later, we met at the round of 32 and were defeated by the same scoreline. We were also edged out by the German side in the semi-finals in 2017/18, losing 5-1 over the two legs.
