Chelsea will again start a game as heavy favourites when we play Malmo tonight, and Thomas Tuchel is demanding the same amount of endeavour from his players that he has seen in recent weeks.
Since our last fixture against Malmo a fortnight ago we have taken on the two sides at the foot of the Premier League table, winning handsomely on both occasions to back up the 4-0 success over the Swedes at Stamford Bridge.
A similar result and performance tonight will go down very well, but Tuchel is wary of taking anything for granted.
‘Matches in the Champions League are about details,’ he noted.
‘Malmo have nothing to lose. They can play with a lot of freedom, and a lot of courage in front of an emotional crowd. These are the things we have to face.
‘It is the fifth or sixth game in a row where we are considered as favourites. I have liked a lot how my team approached these matches. We have put in a lot of effort and intensity, and proved our point on the pitch. That is absolutely necessary again.
‘You can say Malmo need an extraordinary performance, and they will absolutely prepare for this,’ added Tuchel.
‘Any team at this kind of level is ready to create an extraordinary performance. We should be prepared and we should be respectful enough towards the game and towards the opponent. Anything can happen.’
