The form
Chelsea will be hoping for our fifth consecutive league win tomorrow when we go head-to-head with Aston Villa, having won 17 of our last 18 WSL matches. The last WSL match against Leicester City marked Emma Hayes’ 100th with the club and the Blues celebrated with a 2-0 victory with late goals from Fran Kirby and Pernille Harder.
The team have scored in each of our last 56 WSL matches spanning over three years, the longest run of scoring by any team in the competition’s history.Chelsea currently sit second in the table behind Arsenal having only dropped points in the opening match and will be looking to continuing our winning streak following our great form against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final last Sunday.
Villa sit seventh in the table just behind West Ham. Aston Villa picked up seven points from their first three WSL games this season with two wins and one draw but went on to lose their last two matches in a row without scoring.
Chelsea Women vs Aston Villa Women recent head-to-head record
This will be Chelsea’s first encounter with Villa this season and we hope history repeats itself as Hayes’ side have won each of our last five matches against Aston Villa in all competitions in a run that started in the Women’s FA Cup in March 2020. Chelsea have scored 19 goals across these matches to Villa’s four.
In our last away fixture against Carla Ward’s side ended with a 4-0 victory with Sam Kerr firing home a goal to give us the lead within the first three minutes.
Next up for the Blues
Chelsea’s next test after Villa will be Servette away in Switzerland next week in our next Champions League fixture. The match takes place on Tuesday (9 November) and has a 5.45pm (UK) kick-off.
