Chelsea have made the equal second-best defensive start to a Premier League season, conceding just three goals (two from the penalty spot) and recording seven clean sheets in 10 games (same as 2010/11). We set the record ourselves in 2004/05 (two goals in 10 games, eight clean sheets).

Tuchel’s side are on a four-match winning streak in the Premier League and hoping to extend the sequence to five for the first time since a run of six (which included a 4-2 win at Burnley) between September and November 2019.

Of the goalkeepers to have faced more than two shots on target this season, Edouard Mendy has the highest save percentage of any other Premier League shot stopper (89.7 per cent).

Jorginho is the first player in Premier League history to have 10 consecutive goals in the competition come from the penalty spot.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are seeking an eighth successive win (include the one on penalties against Southampton, although statistically the game is classified as a draw) since our defeat to Juventus on 29 September.

No side has had fewer yellow cards in the Premier League this season than Chelsea (11).

Against Brentford last weekend, Burnley won in the Premier League for the first-time this season and the first at home since January. It was the fourth time in their top-flight history they failed to win any of their opening nine games of a campaign.

Sean Dyche’s side scored three goals in the first half for just the third time since they were promoted back to the Premier League in 2016, the first of which was at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of 2017/18 when they won 3-2.

Burnley have won two points from a possible 15 on the road this term: two draws at Leicester and Southampton, and three defeats at Liverpool, Everton and Man City. They have yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels.

Maxwel Cornet has scored four goals in his first five Premier League appearances for the Clarets.
