The form

We return to Kingsmeadow for our second home game in four days, having beaten Servette 1-0 In the Champions League on Thursday.

The visit of Birmingham is a chance for us to stretch our winning run in the WSL to seven, having won every league match since the narrow opening-game defeat against Arsenal.

We have won our previous six FA WSL matches, scoring 20 goals and conceding just twice. We last won seven in a row between October 2018 and January 2019.Birmingham, who parted company with manager Scott Booth on Friday, are second from bottom in the WSL having lost six of their seven matches in a winless start to their league campaign.Birmingham have won just one of their nine away WSL matches against the reigning champions (D2, L6), though that win was against Chelsea in the 2018/19 season.

Chelsea Women v Birmingham City Women head-to-head record

We have won 11 of our past 14 FA WSL matches against Birmingham City, with two draws and just one loss in that run.We have won our previous four league fixtures against Birmingham, with two of those victories coming by a six-goal margin – 6-0 in November 2019 and 6-0 in April 2021.Our last meeting came in the FA Cup in September, the delayed quarter-final tie from last season’s competition. We ran out 4-0 winners on the day as Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby came off the bench to inspire us to an away victory.Kerr’s fine header got us up and running before Kirby scored twice in two minutes, with Pernille Harder sealing victory late on.

Next up for the Blues

We now pause for action for the international break, with our next fixture the Vitality Women’s FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday 5 December. The showpiece final gets underway at 2pm.
