FIFA has revealed the candidates shortlisted for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021, with 10 Chelsea representatives included across both the men’s and women’s categories.
The Blues have a strong showing at this year’s awards, with representation in both the men and women’s coach of the year category, player of the year votes and goalkeeper awards.
Two expert panels – one for women’s football and one for men’s football – selected the candidates for each category and the winners of which will be revealed at an online ceremony on 17 January 2022.
Thomas Tuchel and Emma Hayes are both up for the Best FIFA Men’s and Women’s Coach of 2021 respectively, while Edouard Mendy and Ann-Katrin Berger are both nominated in the best men’s and women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
There’s no surprise to see our Ballon d’Or nominated midfield duo of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho among the 11-strong FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year award following their excellent 2021s, while there are four Chelsea Women players nominated in the women’s category.
Pernille Harder, Sam Kerr, Magda Eriksson and Ji So-Yun are the four included in the list and you can help ensure our Blues contingent come out on top by voting for them here until the vote closes on December 10.
