Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has been named the Best Club Director in European football at the Golden Boy awards organised by Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
Granovskaia, who has been a Chelsea director since 2013, is mainly responsible for player transactions and contracts. Today she has been honoured in the ‘Best European Manager’ category - akin to director - in 2021.
It was a year in which we appointed Thomas Tuchel back in January and a few short months later had our hands on the Champions League trophy for the second time in our history.
We currently lead the Premier League table after 12 games, with the big signing of Romelu Lukaku in the summer having boosted our attacking firepower.
The Golden Boy awards began in 2003 and also sees prizes given to the best player and best young player in Europe. Robert Lewandowski and Pedri were announced today as this year’s winners.
