Mason Mount has been nominated for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award for December following his prolific form for Chelsea during that month.
Our No19 recorded more goal involvements than any other player in the Premier League during December, as he found the back of the net four times, in addition to three assists.
All of those goals came in a flying start to the month from Mount, as he became only the second person to score in four consecutive top-flight games for the Blues since 2016, repeating the feat achieved by Ben Chilwell earlier this season.
Mount played every minute of Chelsea's seven Premier League fixtures during December, starting with a decisive performance as we began the month with a 2-1 victory at Watford, scoring the opener himself before setting up Hakim Ziyech's second-half winner.
It was then his corner which allowed Thiago Silva to score our first at West Ham United, before Mount fired in a spectacular volley on the stroke of half-time, although it was in a losing cause.
Two more smart finishes followed in the late win over Leeds United and our draw with Everton, before another Mount corner resulted in Romelu Lukaku's opening goal in the 1-1 with Brighton in our last game of December.
Mount is the fourth Chelsea man to be nominated for the award in 2021/22, joining Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger and Ben Chilwell, but no-one from the Blues has been named Premier League Player of the Month since Eden Hazard in September 2018.
The other players in the running for the award are Joao Cancelo, Raheem Sterling (both Manchester City), James Maddison (Leicester City), Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard (both Arsenal), Son Heung-Min (Tottenham Hotspur).
You can cast your vote for Mason here now. Voting closes at midday on Monday 10 January, with the winner being announced at 11am on Friday 14 January.
