Tino Anjorin has returned from his loan spell at Lokomotiv Moscow and will spend the rest of the season at Huddersfield Town in the Championship.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder made eight appearances during his time in Russia and scored his only goal for the club on his debut in the Europa League against Marseille. However, injury has prevented him from featuring since late October as he returned to Cobham for treatment and rehabilitation.
A product of the Chelsea Academy, Anjorin featured on three occasions for our men’s first team last term as he established himself as a regular in Thomas Tuchel’s senior squad.
He played a part in our Champions League success, starting a group-stage game against another Russian side, Krasnodar, as well as playing two games in the FA Cup run to the final. In the summer, he was rewarded with a new five-year contract at the club.
The Dorset-born youngster made his Blues debut during the 2019/20 season in a big Carabao Cup win over Grimsby Town, which was followed up with a maiden Premier League appearance later that campaign, as a substitute against Everton in the final game before the break in football caused by the pandemic.
Anjorin now heads to the Championship and will team up with another Chelsea loanee, Levi Colwill, at the John Smith’s Stadium as Huddersfield push for a play-off place. The Terriers are currently just outside the top six on goal difference.
Huddersfield host Derby County on Wednesday in the Championship before a Yorkshire derby at home to Barnsley awaits in the FA Cup on Saturday.
