Covid-19 advice

With the Government’s easing of Covid-19 ‘Autumn and Winter Plan B’ restrictions on 27 January, Chelsea Football Club confirmed that Covid passes are no longer required for fans attending our games at Stamford Bridge and Kingsmeadow.

Neither proof of Covid-19 vaccination nor a negative Lateral Flow Test need to be shown.

Although supporters attending our home matches will no longer be required to provide evidence they are at low risk of transmitting Covid-19, it is vital they continue to do all they can to minimise the risk of passing on the virus.

Supporters must not attend matches if they have any Covid-type symptoms or there is a risk of passing on Covid-19.

There are some simple ways fans can help keep each other safe on a matchday:

•Wear face coverings in indoor and crowded areas, including the concourses, except when eating or drinking.•Continue to regularly use hand-washing facilities and hand sanitisers which are located throughout.•If possible, take a Covid-19 test on a matchday to check there is no risk of passing on the virus.•The best way to protect yourself and others from Covid-19 is to get vaccinated.

The form

Emma Hayes’ side go into the fixture full of confidence having triumphed against Manchester United midweek to progress to the Continental Tyres League Cup final.

Goals from Pernille Harder, Jessie Fleming and Jess Carter saw us cruise past United in an entertaining game to reach the final of the competition for the third time in three years.

Following Wednesday evening’s win the Blues remain unbeaten so far in 2022.City, meanwhile, also head into Sunday’s game in fine form. Gareth Taylor’s side are also unbeaten so far this calendar year, and most recently beat Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final of the Conti Cup, meaning the Blues will face City again on Saturday 5 March.

Chelsea Women vs Manchester City Women head-to-head record

The Blues have gone unbeaten in each of our last nine FA WSL matches against City, winning three and drawing six. We won the reverse fixture 4-0 earlier this season at the Academy Stadium with goals coming from Fleming, Sam Kerr, Fran Kirby and Magdalena Eriksson.

Sam Kerr has found the back of the net in each of her last three WSL appearances against City, scoring three times.

Next up for the Blues

It’s another big fixture next up for Hayes’ side as we host table toppers Arsenal in the WSL next Friday at Kingsmeadow, kicking off at 7.45pm.
