The boss had already ruled out Mason Mount, Reece James and Ben Chilwell earlier today during his pre-match press conference. He has also confirmed Cesar Azpilicueta and Timo Werner are doubts for the trip to Selhurst Park.

‘We have some doubts with Azpilicueta,’ the Bavarian said. ‘We need to check today as he felt a bit of discomfort after training the day before yesterday, so we need to see in training.’

Tuchel also suggested Werner is unlikely to make the game, due to illness rather than injury.

‘To add, Timo Werner came back from catching a cold, so it seems like tomorrow comes a little too early.’

Tuchel also commented on how his side’s preparations for the match have been affected as a result of Storm Eunice on Friday.

‘We pushed training back until the afternoon, to around 3.30pm because we got the weather forecast that it will calm down from 3pm onwards,’ said Tuchel.

‘We have our dome to maybe do training indoors on the artificial grass which we do not prefer but it is an option.

‘We’re lucky enough not to have an away game where we have to fly as I do not know if it would be too much fun to be on a plane today! We will arrive on the bus and we will arrive well prepared for the game.’
