Gnabry's Bayern contract talks stall
Chelsea have been handed a ‘boost’ in any reported quest to sign Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich.
The Sun, who cite German media outlet BILD, report that Gnabry’s contract negotiations have stumbled, therefore not ruling out the possibility of a return to the Premier League.
‘According to German newspaper Bild, discussions are getting complicated,' the report states.
‘The report adds that Chelsea and Tottenham are interested and that the star likes London.
‘The German international has scored 59 goals and 39 assists in 157 appearances for Bayern.
‘And that has helped them to win three Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal cups and the Champions League during that period.’
New ink for Havertz
Kai Havertz is the latest Chelsea player to share their newest tattoo on Instagram.
The German shared a photo yesterday of a tattoo just below his shoulder, picturing Batman clutching the Champions League ball between his arm and waist.
Havertz scored the winning goal in last season’s Champions League final to ensure the Blues claimed our second trophy in the competition.
Kai looks to have joined Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Reece James in publicly showing how they have marked the special night in Porto last May.
Morris tips Thiago as future manager
Ex-Chelsea player and coach Jody Morris has lauded the impact Thiago Silva has had at Stamford Bridge.
Morris was part of Frank Lampard’s coaching set-up when Thiago was signed by the club in 2020.
Speaking to talkSPORT, quoted by the Metro, Thiago is subject to some almighty praise from our former midfielder and coach.
‘The reason he is doing it is because he is world class and he is a top, top professional who does everything he can to make sure he’s in the right condition to play a game and to train,’ Morris told talkSPORT.
‘One of the concerns we had when we signed him was can he play week in, week out. You don’t really want to be taking out centre-halves.
‘We came back from games and he’d be on the phone talking to Frank and wanted to speak about things that had gone on in the game,’ Morris added.
‘He’s a student of the game and a future manager as well. Not only from his own performances, but from the way he wants to organise, he gives people a kick up the backside when they deserve it and making mistakes they shouldn’t.
‘Little speeches he gives before the game, he’s a real winner.
‘I thought he was a top player before he came to Chelsea and admired him from afar, but when you see him close up and the level he’s performing at you see he’s an amazing player.’
