Ronnie Stutter vs Man United

With the young Blues trailing 2-0 early in the second half, a moment of magic was required at Cobham and Stutter stepped up to initiate our comeback in the Under-18 Premier League Cup. Picking up a pass from Charlie Webster, the forward weaved in between two United defenders before firing low and precisely into the bottom corner.

Cesar Azpilicueta vs Plymouth

The skipper opened his account for the season in fine fashion in front of the Shed End, delicately turning home Mason Mount’s low cross with a brilliant backflicked first-time finish befitting of Gianfranco Zola!

Harvey Vale vs Blackpool

Picking up a loose ball on the edge of the box, Vale took aim and curled a beautiful finish right into the top far corner to equalise in our FA Youth Cup quarter-final tie. The strike drew a striking resemblance to our January Goal of the Month winner, Hakim Ziyech’s effort against Tottenham.

Hakim Ziyech vs Crystal Palace

A last-minute winner away from home always feel that extra bit special and this composed finish at the back post came after the Moroccan had earlier seen a goal ruled out by VAR. On this occasion, he watched Marcos Alonso’s deep delivery all the way and volleyed the dropping ball below Jack Butland with superb control.

Pernille Harder vs Man United

Running on to a lofted ball over the top, the Dane showed speed, strength and skill to fashion a sight at goal and then tucked away a tidy finish to open the scoring in our Continental Tyres Cup victory over the Red Devils.

Kai Havertz vs Lille

Firing us ahead in the Champions League last-16 tie, it was a typical Havertz header that earned our early advantage against French visitors in SW6. With Ziyech supplying a corner from the left, the German nipped in front of his marker and guided in a downward header from close range.

Guro Reiten vs Man City

Reiten scored the only goal of a tight WSL game at Kingsmeadow, moving smartly inside the box to find space and then flick on Jess Carter’s centre, leaving the City goalkeeper stranded and helpless.

Jimi Tauriainen vs Aston Villa

After a long spell on the sidelines, the young Finn returned to action at Cobham and wasted no time in marking his comeback with a goal. Taking a short corner on the right, the forward received the ball back before bending it brilliantly away from the goalkeeper to open the scoring.

Christian Pulisic vs Lille

A brilliant break at blistering speed was led by N’Golo Kante, who charged forward from his own half before teeing up Pulisic, who finished superbly in three touches to beat the onrushing goalkeeper and give us a two-goal advantage in the tie.
