The club is running a host of initiatives to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, including celebrating pioneers of the past and present.

We are recognising and celebrating those who have driven change, created an environment for others to succeed and paved the way for future women and girls to follow.

We have launched a club-wide campaign, Brought together in Blue, which includes a short video interview series celebrating inspiring pioneers both in the Chelsea family and from a wider creative field who are driving change for women all year round, paving the way for the next generation of young girls.

Our seven inspirational individuals who we will be highlighting are:

At Chelsea FC we are brought together in blue.

Chelsea Foundation has also been running initiatives and workshops that will continue over the coming days to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day. At Stamford Bridge we hosted an event with over 160 young women from across eight local primary and secondary schools who we already work with in our female-targeted Goal Getter programme, to promote ‘Allyship’ and celebrate the Women of Chelsea.

Special guests, Chelsea FC Women club legends Claire Rafferty and Katie Chapman, were on hand to help the young women with their tasks and talk to the group about inspirational individuals who have helped them throughout their careers, and discuss the importance of having a variety of role models for young women to look up to.

Participants from the Premier League Changemakers programme at Fulham Cross Academy will also be heading to Villa Park to take part in Changemakers conference event, with 32 clubs in total participating in the event with the Foundation team at St Mary’s University also collaborating on their own event, focusing on athletic development in female players across a variety of sports. Female students from our course will also be on hand to present to the wider student group at the University.

Female players from our walking football team and Kicks programme will also take to the pitch on Sunday in Kingston, to play a special International Women’s Day match and they will then head over to cheer on Chelsea Women in their fixture against Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow.

You can follow all of our International Women’s day activities across our social platforms @ChelseaFCW, @ChelseaFC and @CFCFoundation.

Chelsea FC tours will also be marking International Women's Day throughout March, celebrating the history and success of our incredible Women's team, as well as the long story of women's football at Stamford Bridge. Fans will be able to get their hands on match-worn items including shirts and boots, with our vast collection of silverware also on display. Click here to book now.
