The dates of our Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid have been announced.
The first leg at Stamford Bridge will take place on Wednesday 6 April, with the the return fixture at the Bernabeu on Tuesday 12 April. Kick-off for both games is 8pm UK time.
Should we be successful and progress to the semi-final, the confirmed dates for that tie will be announced on Thursday 14 April.
Giving his reaction to the draw via videolink, our technical and sporting advisor Petr Cech said:
‘We meet again, and it’s obviously a really difficult draw with a team who has been brilliant in the last 16 against PSG. So we expect a very difficult two games, and at the same time it’s exciting to have one of the most successful teams in the Champions League against the reigning champions playing together.
‘I have to say that last year we were a bit disappointed that obviously because of the pandemic the games were not played in front of the full stadiums. This fixture really deserves that, and I’m actually happy that we can go to the Bernabeu and have this experience of the proper atmosphere.’
