Chelsea beat Loughborough 1-0 to seal the win at the Wolverhampton Arena at the weekend and take them into the top-flight next season.
Chelsea’s Futsal team played against a strong and organised Loughborough side in the close encounter, but the Blues resilience shone through from the start with the winning goal coming from Diego Pagliuso to ensure victory for the team. The win means Chelsea will move into tier one next season.
Chelsea impressively went unbeaten in 19 games going into the final and scooped up an array of awards along the way with Kaue Da Silva taking home the Player of the Year, National League top goal and National Cup top goal awards with Marc Campbell awarded Manager of the Season.
Marc Campbell, Futsal manager and Foundation Academy coach commented on the win: ‘We are extremely happy with the overall season, winning the double and securing promotion to tier one which was our main goal. The squad have been fantastic throughout the campaign and the final was the icing on the cake to finish as national champions.’
Player of the season, Kaue Da Silva, also added: ‘It’s been an unbelievable season and I’m really proud to achieve these awards. My team-mates and manager have been brilliant, and we are looking forward to fighting for the top spot in tier one next season.’
