There are at least four games for our European stars, most of whom are in UEFA Nations League action. For two of our youngsters who have been out on loan this term, huge World Cup qualifiers also beckon, with the possibility Ethan Ampadu’s Wales could meet Billy Gilmour’s Scotland for a spot in Qatar later this year.

Further afield, Africa Cup of Nations qualifying commences, there are friendlies for Brazil while the US begin their CONCACAF Nations League campaign.

There is plenty of youth international football for the younger age groups, too, and here we round up what the Chelsea players have to look forward to over the next fortnight…

World Cup qualifying

Scotland: Billy Gilmour - Scotland host Ukraine in a World Cup play-off semi-final on Wednesday 1 June. Should they win that game, they will travel to Wales for a World Cup decider on Sunday 5 June.

After that, Scotland have three UEFA Nations League fixtures, against Armenia at home (8 June) and then Ireland (11 June) and Armenia (14 June) away.

Wales: Ethan Ampadu – Wales host either Scotland or Ukraine for a place at the World Cup on 5 June. It would be their first appearance at the tournament since 1958.

Before then, their Nations League campaign starts in Poland this Wednesday. They then host Netherlands (8 June) and Belgium (11 June), before travelling to Rotterdam (14 June).

UEFA Nations League

Albania: Armando Broja - Iceland away (6 June), Israel (10 June) and Estonia (13 June) at home.

Belgium: Romelu Lukaku, Michy Batshuayi – Netherlands (3 June) and Poland (8 June) at home, Wales (11 June) and Poland (14 June) away.

Croatia: Mateo Kovacic – Austria (3 June) and France (6 June) at home, Denmark (10 June) and France (13 June) away.

Denmark: Andreas Christensen – away to France (3 June) and Austria (6 June), at home to Croatia (10 June) and Austria (13 June).

England: Reece James, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher - Hungary (4 June) and Germany (7 June) away, then Italy (11 June) and Hungary (14 June) at home.

France: N’Golo Kante – Denmark at home (3 June), Croatia (6 June) and Austria (10 June) away, then Croatia at home (13 June).

Germany: Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Toni Rudiger - Italy away (4 June), England home (7 June), Hungary away (11 June) and Italy at home (14 June).

Italy: Jorginho, Emerson – Before Italy’s Nations League campaign commences, they will play Argentina at Wembley on Wednesday in the Finalissima, or CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions, a one-off contest between the winners of last year’s Euros and Copa America. It was last played in 1993.

In the Nations League, Italy then host Germany (4 June) and Hungary (7 June), before travelling to England (11 June) and Germany (14 June).

Spain: Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta - Portugal home (2 June), Czech Republic away (5 June), Switzerland away (9 June), Czech Republic home (12 June).

Africa Cup of Nations

Ghana: Baba Rahman – AFCON qualifiers at home to Madagascar (1 June) and away to Central African Republic (5 June), plus a friendly in Japan (10 June).

Senegal: Edouard Mendy – the Lions of Teranga’s attempts to retain their crown won earlier this year begin with group games against Benin at home on 4 June, and Rwanda away on 7 June.

CONCACAF Nations League

USA: Christian Pulisic – the USMNT’s Nations League campaign begins with a home game against Grenada (10 June), and then a trip to El Salvador (14 June). Prior to that, they host Morocco (1 June) and Uruguay (5 June) in friendly matches.

Friendlies

Brazil: Thiago Silva – it’s a trip to the Far East for Thiago Silva and Brazil two decades on from their World Cup triumph in that region. They play South Korea in Seoul on 2 June, and then Japan in Tokyo on 6 June.

Younger age groups

England U21s: Levi Colwill – U21 European Championship qualifiers away to Czech Republic (3 June), home to Albania (7 June), away to Kosovo (10 June) and at home to Slovenia (13 June).

Finland U21s: Lucas Bergstrom – U21 European Championship qualifiers away to Austria (3 June), home to Azerbaijan (7 June) and Norway (10 June).

Netherlands U21s: Ian Maatsen – U21 European Championship qualifiers away to Moldova (3 June), home to Gibraltar (7 June) and away to Wales (11 June).

Northern Ireland U21s: Sam McClelland – U21 European Championship qualifiers at home to Spain (3 June) and away to Lithuania (7 June).
