Reece is up for the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year prize following another fantastic season in Chelsea blue. The 22 year-old scored five goals and registered nine assists in just 26 Premier League appearances, working out at a goal contribution every game-and-a-half – not bad for someone mostly deployed at right wing-back!

Reece’s showreel in 2021/22 included a super finish and assist in our early-season victory at Arsenal, a thunderous brace at St James’ Park and a typically pinpoint strike in a big win against Burnley in spring.

He finished the season as he started it, on top form and supplying a trio of assists in our final three league games. Only hamstring and muscle injuries prevented his impressive figures being even higher this term, with his contribution understandably recognised by his fellow professionals.

Gallagher enjoyed a fantastic year on loan at Crystal Palace and he joins James on the six-man shortlist for the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Gallagher played 34 league games for the Eagles, scored eight goals and picked up a further three assists. His energy, drive and eye for goal proved vital to Patrick Vieira in his first season in charge of Palace, and the south London club’s fans recognised Gallagher’s contribution by voting him their Player of the Year.

The other nominees for the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year awards are: Phil Foden, Jacob Ramsey, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe.

Sam Kerr and Pernille Harder are in the running for the Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year award. Both forwards played a key role for Chelsea Women this season.

The accolades continue to roll in for Kerr, who was also named the Football Writers’ Association Women’s Player of the Year and was named Player of the Year for Chelsea, the WSL and at the London Football Awards. Kerr was also voted the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year for 2021/22.

The 28-year-old striker netted 32 times in all competitions last season and received back-to-back Golden Boot awards having scored the most in the WSL, netting 20 times in 20 league games.

Harder, meanwhile, also had a terrific season in blue. The Denmark international made 29 appearances and scored 16 times in all competitions for Chelsea, playing a vital role in Hayes’ attack this season.

Harder’s contribution in front of goal helped the Blues secure a third consecutive league title and back-to-back FA Cup trophies.

The Dane’s superb solo effort goal against Manchester United was also nominated for the WSL Goal of the Season award.

Lauren James is one of six players on the shortlist for the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year prize. The 20-year-old made 12 appearances in her debut season with the Blues as Emma Hayes’ side secured the domestic double, winning the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

Lauren scored once for the Blues, as her fine strike against Leicester City in the WSL helped Hayes’ side record a 9-0 triumph over the Foxes back in March.

The other nominees in that category are Lauren Hemp (Man City), Frida Maanum (Arsenal), Jessica Naz (Tottenham), Ella Toone (Man United) and Maya Le Tissier (Brighton).
