Chelsea striker Armando Broja has confirmed his knee operation went successfully.

The Cobham graduate was withdrawn early on in our mid-season friendly against Aston Villa in Abu Dhabi 10 days ago now.

In an official club statement, Chelsea confirmed surgery would be required to mend an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in that clash with Unai Emery's side.

The forward has since undergone that surgery, and he posted the following on his Instagram account on Wednesday.

'Pleased to say I underwent a successful operation this morning,' the post reads.

'Time to rest up before starting my road to recovery.

'Thank you once again to everyone who has sent messages of support.'

Armando will now work closely with the club’s medical department during his rehabilitation and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.
