Chelsea Women winger Reanna Blades has signed with the club until the summer of 2024 with the option to extend by a further year.
The 18-year-old was a part of our Foundation Development Centre Programme before joining Brighton for a season at RTC level. Reanna then joined Chelsea Academy’s Under-14s the following season and has been impressively performing at Academy level ever since. She featured for the Blues against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly last year and went on to score in the same London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
The young Lioness has also represented England at all youth age groups, receiving her first call-up to join England’s Under-16s. She is now a member of the Under-19s squad.
On signing for Chelsea, Blades commented: ‘It's a dream come true to sign my first professional contract at this club. I am honoured to continue my journey at Chelsea and exited for the future.
‘I am appreciative of my family and coaches for helping me build both on and off the pitch, this is where the hard work begins!’
Chelsea FC Women General Manager Paul Green commented on Blades' signing: ‘Reanna possesses great pace, athleticism, and has the potential to develop further.
‘She has performed very well at Academy level, and we look forward to watching her progress over the upcoming years in senior football.’
