After getting herself on the scoresheet in our emphatic 5-0 win over West Ham on Sunday, Blues forward Aggie Beever-Jones hailed her side's success in front of goal.

The England international scored our third, a stunning strike on the stroke of half-time, with Catarina Macario and Erin Cuthbert having netted our opening two goals in the 11th and 21st minutes, respectively, at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

Sandy Baltimore made it 4-0 inside the opening ten minutes of the second half, with an own-goal late on wrapping up proceedings in a successful outing in Dagenham.

The win over West Ham means Chelsea sit top of the table at the halfway point with 31 points and are unbeaten in each of our 18 matches across all competitions this season.

Each of the goals scored by Chelsea players on Sunday were incredibly impressive: Macario's delightful volley, a powerful driving shot from Cuthbert on her 250th competitive appearance, Beever-Jones' sweetly hit long-range effort and a sublime strike from range by Baltimore.

And Beever-Jones believes our return was the result of a game plan which saw Sonia Bompastor's side showcase their attacking intent at the earliest opportunity.

'Albeit it is always our game plan, but we were able to put that into effect,' Beever-Jones said. 'Playing against teams in a low block, it can be hard to get that first goal but credit to Cat she took it well and Ez's goal, it shows how successful we are on the press.

'Even I was a bit surprised when my goal went in, hence my reaction!' the forward continued. 'I was really happy with it. It's always nice to make your mark on the game, especially just before the second half. Always delighted to get on the scoresheet.'

It was a dominating all-round performance for the Blues in our first WSL match of 2025 and something Beever-Jones hopes they can build on in the coming games.

'Yeah, definitely,' Beever-Jones replied when asked if that's as good as an away performance can be. 'Obviously, it can be hard at Chrismas when you get a break and rest, but for us at Chelsea, we see that as a positive to go and rest before an intense second part of the season.

'We're really happy with the win against West Ham. It's a good stepping stone to build on for the next few games.'
