Chelsea can today confirm that forward Aimee Claypole will spend the remainder of the 2023/24 season on loan with Lewes in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The 18-year-old has been with the Blues since August 2015 during which time she has won silverware including the FA WSL Academy Cup and the FA Youth Cup, and was the country’s top scorer in the Women’s Super League Academy for the 2022/23 campaign.
In November, she signed her first professional contract with the club until the summer of 2025, with an option to extend for a further year. On the international stage, the young forward has represented Finland as an Under-15 and England at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19.
Claypole made her competitive first-team debut for the Blues as a second-half substitute against Aston Villa in the Women’s FA Cup in January 2022. Last season, she came off the bench against Brighton and Hove Albion in the WSL and Reading in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
For the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign, Claypole will continue her development with a loan spell at Lewes. She will ply her trade with the East Sussex outfit who occupy 11th spot in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Aimee every success during her time at Lewes.
